Welcome!

Hello! My name is Kelley, and I have been blessed to have the most special cat in my life. He is a rescue cat from Jamaica Plains, MA...and came into my life while I was a grad student at Harvard.

First Impressions

First impressions, they say, can't be taken back.  George on the other hand might be the exception to that rule sometimes!  When I say that I have a cat, no one expects a 22 pound, almost 3 foot long cat to walk up to them.  You think you know him when you see him...but he tends to show you who he truly is once your panic settles down.  And there have been some priceless reactions to him that we have decided to share with you!

My first words to him were "I have to have you."  I saw him stretched out on the top of the couch, hugging it like the "monorail kitty", purring loudly at the entrance of a new friend...and I knew.

As for other people's (and pet's) reactions:

"Is that a tiger?!" -- a best friend of mine said then on her entrance to my room where George was sleeping in a shoe box...well, most of him was...

"That's not a cat, that's a grown man!" -- my father.

"HAHA! omygoodness he is huge!" -- I will credit this to my current, unsuspecting roommate...though this is a popularly used response.

"You are not going to bring that lion on this plane!" -- an AirTran Flight Attendant, with a smile

"...gasp...gasp...(man begins to breath into paper lunch bag)" -- an Airport Security Agent with a cat phobia (ailurophobia).

"What do you feed him?!" -- a kind taxi driver helping me put him in the cab of his car.

So what were your first impressions of him?  Share with us!

And if you haven't met him yet...then you might need to plan a visit so we can get your reaction documented :)

love and purrs,
Kelley and George
